Authentic Chicken Light Soup
“A thin, spicy, and flavorful traditional soup — perfect with fufu or omo tuo.”

Ingredients
- 200ml Ntoswura Natural Tomato Puree
- 1kg chicken (hard body/fowl preferred), cut into pieces
- 2 large tomatoes, whole
- 1 large onion, whole
- 2-3 Scotch bonnet peppers (yellow and green)
- Fresh ginger and garlic, blended
- Water or chicken broth
- Salt to taste
Preparation Method
Season the chicken with blended ginger, garlic, and salt, then steam in a pot until partially soft.
Add the whole tomatoes, onion, and scotch bonnet peppers to the pot with a little water, and simmer until soft.
Remove the softened vegetables, blend them until smooth, and pour the puree back into the pot.
Add the Ntoswura Tomato Puree and enough water to reach a light, soupy consistency.
Simmer on low heat for another 20-30 minutes until the chicken is fully tender and the oil settles on top. Serve hot.
